ABOUT
GRAPHIC DESIGN
I am a designer who loves telling stories beyond simple black and white words on a page. Unlike many designers, I have a unique set of skills beyond just graphic design - including photography, videography, photojournalism, motion graphics and even 3D design.
I have been a part of the award-winning Carolina Photojournalism Workshop, which has won several Gold Medals at the Horizon Interactive Awards as well as a Gold Medal for the Large Group Multimedia Project in the 70th College Photographer of the Year.
I am a Tar Heel who loves the beach, anything Disney, keeping up with the entertainment world
and watching sports - especially when it's Carolina blue.

During my time at The AroundCampus Group, I designed numerous advertisements for over 300 college and universities in the United States. One such advertisement was for Amante Gourmet Pizza, which is a pizzeria in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. This advertisement that I designed was printed in the UNC-Chapel Hill's student planner.
During my time at Duke Graduate School, I assisted with the design and publication of the school's annual report brochure. I was responsible for coordinating with various departments in obtaining information, and I assisted with the layout design for the brochure.
As both co-creator and designer, I worked with a team of eight writers and eight designers to create, write, design and produce "Solstice", a magazine that is focused on summer camps. Attached is one of the articles that I designed and that was selected as a featured article on our cover.
As Assistant Executive Graphic Design and Videography Chair, I designed promotional advertisements such as this recruitment flyer to promote the Her Campus brand and to recruit new members.
As the communications intern for Duke University Graduate School, I am responsible for writing and editing content for the school's website. To commemorate The Graduate School's 90th anniversary, I wrote this history spotlight that focuses on the first Black Ph.D. graduates from Duke. I also designed the accompanying graphic for this article.
For the final project of my graphic design class, we were given three articles and various photographs for the then-upcoming film "Interstellar". We were instructed to design these spreads how ever we saw fit for a magazine, and so these are my designs.
During my time at Duke University, I was tasked with the responsibility of producing a video that commemorated the 20th anniversary of the Duke Summer Research Opportunity Program. I assisted with both the preparation and production of the interviews, I was responsible for gathering all of the footage, and I was solely responsible for the editing of this video.
In my audio-visual class, my projects consisted of creating, shooting and editing videos that focused on local food, sports or arts. This video follows Melissa Swope, a current senior at UNC-Chapel Hill who plays the mellophone in the UNC Band. In this video, she tells her story on what the band means to her and how it has impacted her time at UNC.
"Big Air" is the video that I made for the Carolina Photojournalism Workshop. It focuses on 2010 IWWF World Champion Wakeboarder, Adam Fields. In only one week, I shot, wrote, directed and edited a video to illustrate Adam's immense love for both wakeboarding as a sport as well as for his hometown of Lake Gaston.
I recently took a 3D design class at my school, and I learned how to create numerous 3D models by using the program Maya. These included that of animals, people's faces as well as buildings. All of the homework assignments, matte paintings and projects that I had to complete for this class are included in this demo reel.
